Every day is a crossroads
With its own decisions and problems.
So many mistakes you may make
And when Money raises its ugly head
It doesn’t make anything any easier.
Every day is a new chance
To make a new start and meet and help new people.
Every day is a crossroads with its own decisions to make.
Just try and make the right ones.
BEYOND SENSE AND REASON.
Snow falling on a Summer’s day.
Sunlight shining on a midnight mass.
Cathedral bells ringing while bombs are falling.
Please God explain the mystery to me.
Foreign words echoing in my perplexed ears.
Strange colours flashing at my blinking eyes.
Mysterious music playing at the back of my head.
Please my God explain the message to me.
I don’t remember my mother’s name.
I don’t recall my childhood friends.
I am so far away from yesterday.
I can’t even remember the colour of my lover’s eyes.
Why is Man such a piece of broken glass?
Ashes of truths that have long become old- fashioned
Are scattered on my lover’s bed.
Branches of a thunder-struck tree are strewn in her garden.
And every letter I try to write to her is lies
Before it was ever true.
Surely Life has a meaning.
Surely love has a reason for coming
Stumbling into our lives like a drunken drunk
And breaking every rule that we once tried to respect.
Icicles hanging from a palm tree.
Flames rising from a ten foot wave.
Love lasting in Man’s cold, cold heart.
Are all these things impossible?
I don’t know why God made you and the Devil made me.
I don’t know why I must sing and you must cry.
There are too many reasons for each and every act
And none of them is the real reason.
Please , sister of my other self
Help me find away of controlling this unholy chaos.
Help me find a way of hanging onto Love and Light,
And all that lies beyond our ever changing Mind.
Like snow falling on a Summer’s day
And sunlight shining on a midnight mass
And bells ringing while bombs are falling.
Explain! O God that may be, your madness
Your mystery, and your incomprehensible promise!
